Construction Inspector Nighttime Paving (NETTCP Certified)

M&J Engineering P.C. is seeking a qualifiedNighttime Paving Inspectorwith NETTCP HMA Paving Certification to support ongoing roadway construction projects in East Windsor CT. This field-based role is essential for ensuring quality assurance and compliance during nighttime paving operations under CTDOT oversight.

• Inspect and approve paving operations during nighttime shifts to ensure compliance with CTDOT specifications and NETTCP standards.
• Monitor contractor activities including material placement compaction and temperature control.
• Document daily work progress inspection findings and non-conformance issues.
• Perform field measurements and verify pay quantities.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers contractors and utility representatives to resolve field issues.
• Ensure adherence to traffic control environmental and safety protocols.

• NETTCP HMA Paving Certification (must be valid and recognized by CTDOT)
• Minimum 2 years of field inspection experience on civil construction projects
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to work night shifts and in varied weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Experience with CTDOT projects or local municipal roadway work
• Familiarity with AASHTOWare and COMPASS systems
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health certification
• Additional NETTCP certifications (Concrete Soils & Aggregate)
