An exciting opportunity to develop knowledge skills and experience in data protection and information governance. The postholder will work under supervision and after training to provide support to the Councils Data Protection Team including:
Although the Apprentice is expected to complete tasks the Data Protection Officer will have direct responsibility for allocating and where required prioritising the day-to-day work of the Apprentice. The Apprentice will be supported by the Councils Employability Team in relation to completion of Business Administration qualification framework. They will also act as a link person between Apprentice Data Protection Officer and qualification Training Provider.

The Person
Educated to National 4 Level including qualifications in English and Maths.
You should have a genuine interest in privacy human rights or the law.
You will ideally have an understanding of using current Microsoft computer-based applications and the ability to develop good verbal and written communication skills.
You will have the aptitude to develop key skills including accuracy attention to detail time management customer service interpersonal and organisational skills.
A Modern Apprenticeship is a work-based training programme that leads to an industry approved qualification As part of this post the Apprentice must achieve milestone targets related to completion of SVQ 2Business and Administration (SCQF Level 5) as agreed on an individual Training Plan. Failure to meet these targets may result in the termination of the Apprenticeship post.
