The Structural Engineering Associate (EA) I & II is an entry-level role suited for individuals with up to four years of professional experience. This position involves assignments intended to build engineering knowledge and practical skills. The role requires the application of standard engineering techniques procedures and criteria to a variety of tasks. While limited judgment is required the EA will assist in making preliminary decisions and adaptations of engineering methods.
Apply principles of good engineering practice to all assignments.
Utilize computers handbooks and drawing instruments effectively.
Perform basic design calculations within assigned discipline.
Produce accurate detailed and productive work.
Assist in preliminary design studies and project planning.
Support preparation of specifications cost estimates reports and studies.
Create design layouts detailed drawings and sketches.
Review and check designs prepared by others.
Employ CAD and other computer-based tools in design efforts.
Recognize limitations and seek guidance when necessary.
Adhere to company safety and quality policies and procedures.
Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours including overtime and overnight travel as required.
Ability to operate a computer and remain seated for extended periods.
Capable of working outdoors and on uneven surfaces (e.g. concrete grass dirt gravel).
Valid drivers license with the ability to travel as needed.
