Job Description

Sports Supervisor-LindberghCommunity Ed & Rec

  • Full-time position 12 months
  • Starting Salary:$49500-53000;commensurate with experience
  • Benefits included

Summary: Sports Supervisor provides leadership and coordination in developing implementing and supervising Lindbergh community and recreational sports programs that involve approximately 3500 participants position operates on a flexible schedule with some work assignments on weekday evenings and weekends. The assigned work could include supervision coaching officiating class/sport registration ordering equipment uniforms supplies and general office work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the departments sports leagues and programs including development and execution of budget.
  • Provide direction support and supervision to staff.
  • Recruit interview train schedule and evaluate staff.
  • Recruit train and manage volunteer coaches.
  • Create and administer the program evaluation process.
  • Document important program info maintain databases process registrations schedule programs.
  • Recognize community needs and recommend new program offerings.
  • Maintain positive interactions with internal and external constituents.
  • Nurture professional growth and building of staff morale.
  • Develop marketing strategies to encourage participation in programs.
  • Attend meetings and events as required.
  • Keep up with current trends and developments in the field.
  • Coordinate logistics for facility management.
  • Other supervisory duties as assigned by the department Director.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Recreation Business or similar field.
  • Minimum three years experience in management of recreation and sports programs or related fields.
  • Prior experience managing a staff with multiple employees.
  • Prior experience recruiting training and managing volunteer coaches.
  • Prior experience working with community or school programs preferred.
  • Prior experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders is preferred.
