Job Description
0.50 FTE Physical Education Teacher - one year
Allen Brook School
Champlain Valley School District has an opening for a dynamic 0.5 FTE Physical Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year at the Allen Brook School (PreK-2). This will be a 5 day a week position.
A successful candidate is likely to possess the following qualifications:
- Licensed in Vermont for K-12 physical education
- A team player who is flexible collaborative and capable of team teaching
- Strong background in planning implementing and assessing standards based curriculum
- Have a strong knowledge of the SHAPE America National Standards and Physical/Health Literacy
- Ability and desire to integrate physical education and health through a variety of activities and units throughout the day
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate each student to cultivate physical fitness wellness and the appreciation of lifelong enjoyment of physical activity in order to make healthy choices throughout their lives
- Interest with implementing adapted PE in collaboration with PT / OT and Special Educators
- Strong leadership and communication skills
