To further our mission we are looking for aMortgage Advisor. Position Overview: Responsible for administering ACTIONs down payment and closing cost assistance programs. Job Responsibilities: - Assist potential home buyers who are inquiring about ACTIONs first-time homebuyer or down payment assistance programs
- Collect basic program specific information including but not limited to program applications household membership demographics and composition income verification and mortgage lender documents.
- Receive and review applications and supporting documentation for program qualification.
- Perform an affordability analysis for each homebuyer applicant for program compliance and notify all parties concerning compliance.
- Request all necessary information from each homebuyer applicant to complete the program underwriting process.
- Provide each homebuyer applicant with the purchase terms and conditions for the programs.
- Prepare program documents for each homebuyer loan closing.
- Provide partner organizations including but not limited to County/City government agencies mortgage lenders title companies with each homebuyers closing documents for review at least five (5) business days prior to loan closing.
- Attend each loan closing and provide interim funds to cover the closing costs when required.
- Provide partner organizations with the required environmental review documentation for each homebuyer property.
- Keep appropriate program compliance files for review as required.
- Maintain customer and client intake information and any other related communication logs.
- Responsible for the maintenance of current data and statistics pertaining to clients.
- Market agency programs to individuals directly and through civic religious local government institutions and corporate organizations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements: A high school diploma with three years experience in mortgage lending required or bachelors degree with one year relevant experience required. A valid drivers license and insured vehicle. Willingness to travel. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of financial and credit reports required including mortgage products including but not limited to conventional Fannie Mae Freddie Mac and FHA and; ability to build relationships collaborate engage in outreach and instruct individuals from diverse populations. Mortgage lending processing and/or origination experience a plus. Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office package as well as the internet preferred.
