Overview
The role of a Cardiologist DM DNB Consultant is pivotal in the healthcare framework of Tohana Haryana. This professional is responsible for diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases contributing significantly to the community s health and well-being. The cardiologist works closely with other medical staff to provide comprehensive cardiac care ranging from outpatient consultations to advanced interventional procedures. As a consultant the individual will not only treat patients but also take on the added responsibility of mentoring junior doctors and sharing their expertise with medical staff. Furthermore the role may involve participating in research initiatives aimed at improving cardiovascular health outcomes. The position demands a high level of clinical knowledge technical skill and a compassionate approach to patient care which collectively enhances the overall healthcare services provided by the institution and promotes healthier lifestyles within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough cardiac assessments using patient history and physical examinations.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools for accurate evaluation including echocardiograms and stress tests.
- Formulate individualized treatment plans based on patient diagnoses and clinical guidelines.
- Administer appropriate medical therapies for various cardiovascular conditions.
- Perform invasive procedures such as angioplasty and catheterizations as necessary.
- Monitor patients pre- and post-procedure to ensure optimal safety and care.
- Educate patients and families on cardiovascular health and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in department meetings to discuss complex cases and treatment strategies.
- Supervise and mentor junior cardiologists and medical trainees.
- Engage in ongoing medical education and training through conferences and seminars.
- Document patient interactions and treatment plans accurately in medical records.
- Conduct clinical research to advance knowledge in cardiology.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and medical regulations.
- Provide on-call services for emergency cardiac care.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized institution.
- Doctor of Medicine (DM) in Cardiology or equivalent.
- Diploma of National Board (DNB) in Cardiology is preferred.
- State medical license to practice in Haryana.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cardiology including post-graduation involvement.
- Fellowship training in a specialized area of cardiology is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular diseases and treatment protocols.
- Experience with advanced cardiac imaging and diagnostic techniques.
- Proven ability to perform catheter-based interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professionalism.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and documentation practices.
- Research experience in cardiology is highly desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
