The Opportunity
APEX is currently accepting applications for a Supervisor Machining position to join our Custom Contract Manufacturing Group. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the machining department to ensure efficient workflow high-quality output and a safe working environment. This role plays a critical part in leading the team managing resources resolving technical challenges and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
What youll do
Responsibilities
- Coordinate team to meet production schedules quality standards and efficiency targets
- Monitor performance identify issues and implement actions
- Provide hands-on technical support and mentorship to team members
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations company policies and industry standards
- Manage staffing including scheduling training attendance and performance
- Support sales and planning functions with technical input and process insights
- Oversee inventory of consumables and tooling; ensure timely ordering and usage tracking
- Support process improvement including new equipment technologies or methodologies
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs
What youll need
Qualifications
- 5yrs experience in machining operations and supervisory roles in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of CNC machines programming tooling and associated processes
- Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings (metric & imperial) specifications and work instructions
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Considerable knowledge in inspection methodology
- Experience in Syspro or similar ERP is considered an asset
- Knowledge of G code is considered a strong asset
