The role
As Sustainability Engineer youll support the design delivery and review of sustainability projects and programs aligned with the Net Zero Government Operations Policy (NZGO) and other environmental frameworks. From driving emissions reductions and asset efficiency to implementing smart monitoring technologies and certifying performance through NABERS and GreenStar your work will be integral to meeting DPHIs environmental goals.
Youll also support stakeholder engagement manage data and reporting and provide expert advice to enable sustainability leadership across NSW Government property portfolios.

What you will bring to the role
Demonstrated experience delivering sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives in the built environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence outcomes and foster collaboration.
A practical solutions-focused mindset and the ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced policy and project environment.
What is an essential requirement:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering Design Sustainability or other relevant discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience including 3 years in a similar role.
- Qualified NABERS Energy and Water for Offices Assessor with knowledge of NABERS Waste IE and Energy Performance Indicators.
- Knowledge of GreenStar Buildings and Fit-outs.
- A current and valid Australian full drivers licence (NSW travel required).
