Job Description
Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has opportunities for part-time Preschool Assistants at ourWestfordElementary Schoolbeginningwith the 2025-26school year. The Preschool Assistant supports the teacher in ensuring a safe and enriching environment for young children. They assist with student behavior record-keeping instructional support and communication with stakeholders. Additionally they help with classroom setup and safety measures and contribute to policy implementation. They also play a role in assessing student progress developing individualized programs and providing overall support to students and staff.
Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
- Associates degree in early childhood education preferred but not required.
- Experience with and love for working with preschool aged children
- Relevant experience in a school setting is desirable
- Knowledge of children with disabilities of special education students and special education teaching methods preferred
- Holds or is able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification training provided
- Able to effectively work without specific direction and with minimal supervision.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
