We are seeking compassionate and proactive Support Mentors in Darwin and Palmerston to assist participants in achieving their goals through social educational and employment-focused activities while promoting inclusion and personal growth.
About the Role
As a Support Mentor youll work closely with people with disability to support their goals in independence social connection learning and employment. Whether its through hands-on experience in our social enterprise caf (Equal Grounds Caf) social connection and capacity building program or one-on-one mentoring your work will foster inclusion and build real outcomes for participants.
This is a dynamic role involving both group and individual support delivered in a range of settings -including at home in the community and in employment or training environments.
What Youll Bring
Demonstrated experience working with people with disability in community home or employment settings
A genuine commitment to inclusion human rights and person-centred practice
Empathy patience reliability and a strong work ethic
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Confidence working independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to respond to varying participant needs and locations
Strong organisational skills and tech competency for reporting and compliance
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support Disability Community Services or similar is desirable
Experience in barista work cooking or employment support is highly valued
Willingness to complete relevant training or certifications
Essential Requirements
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working with Children Clearance
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations
Right to work in Australia
Valid drivers licence and access to a reliable insured vehicle
