Pay range $ 18.70 - $20.20 per hour

Job Description:
Strong understanding of landscaping and horticultural practices
Familiarity with landscape planning and irrigation systems
Ability to inspect outdoor areas for safety and report hazards
Skilled in using and maintaining landscaping tools and small machinery
Reliable and proactive in maintaining clean safe and attractive grounds
Experience with seasonal tasks like mulching seeding and re-sodding
Confidence operating trucks trailers and tractors safely
Basic knowledge of painting and minor grounds-related repairs
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Commitment to providing excellent service to staff and the public
What Youll Be Doing:
Perform a range of manual groundskeeping tasks across assigned areas
Operate lawnmowers blowers edgers and other landscaping equipment
Mow edge aerate seed and fertilize lawns and green spaces
Prune shrubs weed flower beds mulch and prepare soil for planting
Clean and maintain paths walkways and stairways
Identify and address basic safety issues in outdoor areas
Assist in the installation and repair of irrigation systems
Trap rodents and manage pests as needed
Maintain accurate records of work using digital tools
Support and mentor less experienced groundskeeping staff
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years experience required with an emphasis in turf care preferred
Experience or training that ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance
Valid California drivers license
Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition staff agree to live in agreement with PLNUs Community Life Covenant.
The job offer is contingent on the successful completion of a background check. PLNU will consider qualified applicants including those with criminal histories in a manner consistent with state and local Fair Chance laws.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
On a continuous basis walk stand bend crouch or stoop sit in jolting cab for varying periods of time; use hands and fingers to grasp tools; make repetitive hand and body motions; twist and reach below and above shoulder climb ladders and perform physical activities on a continual basis; communicate in person use a two-way radio and use the telephone; lift or carry 50 pounds or less. See in the normal vision range with or without correction; hear in the normal range with or without correction. Work is performed outdoors with exposure to a variety of weather conditions traffic noise physical barriers and around heavy equipment; work with exposure to fumes and odors of fertilizers herbicides insecticides and pesticides.
