Consultant Psychiatrist - General Adult Inpatient

Where you ll be working
You will be working within a Health Service with a strong network of public hospitals located across rural and remote Western Australia. You will be working at a 190-bed hospital that functions as a regional source centre, and a nearby 84-bed hospital offering specialised, multidisciplinary and culturally safe assessment, treatment and support. The larger hospital includes a 30-bed acute psychiatric unit for inpatient mental health services. The hospital also has a Mental Health SUSD program that offers 24/7 support in a community setting, and a 30-bed modular ward for low acuity patients.

As Consultant Psychiatrist, you will contribute to the provision of clinical excellence and high-quality, patient-centred care on a broad spectrum of cases, crisis care and ongoing case management. You will provide comprehensive, specialist services to inpatient adults, treating a variety of challenging cases including post-partum, eating disorder services, neurodiversity, behavioural addiction and alcohol and other drug addiction. You will be supported by a dynamic and expanding team of specialists, registrars, junior doctors and mental health nurses. You will promote a collaborative model of care, and will have the opportunity to contribute to the supervision, training and education of junior doctors.

Salary information
Consultant Psychiatrists can expect a competitive salary in line with the WA Award, plus a range of benefits and incentives.

Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), or equivalent. Psychiatrists eligible for the fast-track registration pathway are encouraged to apply.
