Position Title: Back -Up Part-Time Receptionist

Reports to: School Manager

Classification: Part-time Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate: $17.95/hr.

Location: NW Campus Locations


Position Description:

The Washington Ballet is seeking reliable and friendly individuals to serve as back-up Part-Time Receptionists for our NW campus locations. This position is a key point of contact for students parents visitors and staff and is essential in maintaining a welcoming and professional front desk presence.


As a back-up receptionist you will provide coverage as needed often on short notice to support front desk operations answer inquiries and offer general administrative assistance to various departments. The ideal candidate is personable organized and able to multitask in a dynamic environment.


Please note: This is an on-call position with no guaranteed or fixed schedule. We are looking for individuals who are flexible and available to step in as needed.


Key Job Duties:

  • Front Desk Management: Greet and direct students parents and visitors with professionalism and warmth ensuring a welcoming atmosphere at all times.
  • Phone Communication: Answer incoming phone calls addressing inquiries or routing them to the appropriate staff member or department. Check voicemail daily take notes and follow up with School Manager or School Principal.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with data entry maintaining student records filing and distributing information to staff or students as needed.
  • Class Registration Assistance: Provide support to students and parents during the registration process helping with forms payment processing and scheduling inquiries.
  • Facility Oversight: Monitor the lobby area and studios to ensure they remain organized and tidy and assist with any operational issues (e.g. reporting facility maintenance needs).
  • Daily Schedules and Announcements: Keep updated on class schedules teacher availability and special events to provide accurate information to students and parents.
  • Attendance Tracking: Monitor student check-ins recording attendance and ensuring accuracy in reporting.
  • Safety & Security: Manage and maintain student drop off and pick up procedures. Ensure security protocols are followed for the safety of students and staff.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or leadership team.
  • Actively contribute to a positive work culture that reflects and celebrates TWBs Core Values.

Experience Skills and Knowledge:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous receptionist or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Friendly approachable demeanor with a passion for creating a positive atmosphere.
  • Interest or experience in the dance or performing arts industry is a plus.
