Behavioral Health Advocate

Have you heard of Opportunity Youth... 1 in 5 Americans aged 16 to 24 are neither employed nor in school making this an atrisk and disconnected population. These young adult participants present with complex stressors and unique barrier remediation needs while navigating a pivotal developmental life stage. The Behavioral Health Advocate will provide support to assist them with life skills decisionmaking emotional regulation selfadvocacy and fostering healthy relationships. We are seeking a dynamic teamoriented and caring individual to join our spirited team!
Scope of Position:
The Behavioral Health Advocate (BHA) is responsible for the assessment and intervention of program participants who have identified behavioral health concerns as being a barrier to reaching their full potential. As a BHA you will assist in providing brief therapeutic interventions and referring to longterm external supportive services when applicable.
Essential Functions:
Assess and build therapeutic relationships with participants to assist with clientcentered interventions aimed at reducing barriers
Provide holistic individualized supportive services to assist in clients professional and personal developmental needs and opportunities
Provide individual coaching psychoeducation and facilitating groups when applicable
Identify beneficial community resources for participants and coordinate external referrals when appropriate
Uphold confidentiality standards with all client interactions in accordance with your advanced degree and/or licensing board
Maintain organized confidential and welldocumented participant case notes in accordance with program standards and with ethical consideration for your licensure board

Education and Experience Requirements:
Masters degree required in Social Work Counseling Counseling Education or related field with 23 years of clinical experience
Firm grasp of ethical expectations and the ability to maintain ethical standards without onsite supervision
Experience with counseling individuals and families
Ability to prioritize tasks and great documentation skills
Ability to be flexible in a fastpaced environment
Customer service experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Valid drivers license and automobile required
