Second Shift P8 Senior Operations Manager

Boeing Global Services is looking for an energetic P8 Senior Operations Manager to lead the 2nd shift Operations Team for the modification of the P8A at Boeings new Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Jacksonville FL.

The Boeing P8 Poseidon is a commercial derivative military aircraft based on a modified design of the 737800ERX. The platform was initially developed for the US Navy first flown in 2009 and introduced into service in 2013. The Aircraft is fitted with equipment for a diverse range of missions including submarine hunting performing reconnaissance missions and supporting search & rescue operations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • This management position is a 2nd Shift Senior Operations Manager responsible for the installation of the modification to the P8A Poseidon the preservation requirements relevant to the 737800 and/or the buildup and modification of the mission systems cabinets.

  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies goals and objectives.

  • Acquires resources for organizational activities provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes.

  • Manages develops and motivates employees and first level managers.

  • Responsible for adherence to and oversite of established processes accurate and timely work recording and contractual/regulatory compliance.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

An interim and/ or final U.S. Secret Clearance PostStart is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • 5 years of experience in operations and/or manufacturing processes

  • 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role

  • Willing to work 2nd shift including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 years of experience with the P8A or B737 aircraft

  • 5 years of operations experience in a Maintenance Repair and Overhaul organization

  • 5 years of experience working with Government customers

  • 5 years of experience implementing continuous process improvement lean processes and employee involvement and engagement strategies in a manufacturing environment

  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant certification

Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
