Location: ACT

Start date: June 2025

Duration: Approximate 11month contract with possibility of extension

Pay rate: $63.40 $71.29 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation

Security Clearance Requirements: Applicants must be an Australian citizen and hold a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance at time of application

OVERVIEW:

We are looking for an experienced Security Training Specialist (APS6) to play a key role in designing developing and delivering security training for the department. This is an opportunity to facilitate training to staff develop training strategies identify training and capability gaps and manage trainingrelated administrative tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver presentations and facilitate training to staff and external agencies.
  • Develop innovative relevant diversity enabled and culturally sensitive learning solutions for officers. They may also be required to design and develop associated training support and instructional material for training participants.
  • Undertake continual analysis and review of PTS training curricula.
  • Develop training strategies and produce training outcome briefs and other highlevel briefs as required for the Executive.
  • Identify security training and capability gaps and (where possible) determine strategies to reduce these through a process of continual monitoring and refining of the departments training to build and enhance security capability.
  • Oversee the scheduling of security training and prioritise enrolment of course participants.
  • Interpret apply and enact security policy and procedures and educate others on these aspects.
  • Prepare briefing material and policy guidance to inform and guide the department and its people.

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualification and/or demonstrated experience in training and assessment is essential.
  • Previous experience in Protective Security would be desirable.
  • Experience or knowledge of the overseas security environment is desirable.
