Job Description

Adelphi is seeking Orientation and Mobility trainers to provide services to students at a school district in Providence Rhode Island. The ideal candidates will provide direct Orientation and Mobility services to students consistent with their IEP requirements and in accordance with established standards of care.

Requirements:

Certification as a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS)

Experience providing direct O&M services in school settings preferred.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct Orientation and Mobility services to students consistent with their IEP requirements.

Provide complete orientation and mobility evaluations or students referred for initial assessments or triennial review.

Provide written reports as required by the Special Education Department.

Complete documentation associated with the referral and assessment process and the provision of services including IEP development.

Attend IEP meetings for students receiving or being considered for O&M services.

Provide direct vision service to children if necessary.

Provide services in compliance with established guidelines and standards of care.

Any other duties as assigned.
