Job Description
ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. All applicants must be professing Christians and willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of Abilene Christian University while employed by the university.
Display strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Be disciplined conscientious and proactive
Have the ability to work independently efficiently and accurately
Be able to use common computer programs and learn new software
Finding and pulling books from the shelves
Packing and sending books in the mail and sorting and unpacking incoming mail
Scanning pages of books and articles
Using computer software for processing loans
Shelving and shelf reading (making sure books are located and ordered correctly)
Other miscellaneous tasks in the library
This position is technical rather than covering a desk or service point. While located in a busy and visible area of the library daily tasks performed by the student worker involve more work with computers and books and less direct patron interaction.
