Job Description
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate
- Bachelors degree (minimum) including all courses and state tests needed to meet credential requirements
- Catechist certification is required for all teachers of religion (may be completed within one year of hire)
- Before working with students all teachers must undergo fingerprinting a background check and complete the Protecting Gods Children training. This training underscores our commitment to ensuring our students a safe and secure environment.
Candidates should possess knowledge of:
- Catholic Faith and practices lessons and activities for young children
- Child development theory and practice
Candidates should possess the following skills and classroom practices:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- A willingness to collaborate with the elementary team and the professional learning community at large
- Management of a safe and nurturing environment
- Establishment of a classroom environment that develops the spiritual academic social and emotional growth of children entrusted to their care
- Development of relationships with parents to encourage communication about their childs growth and development
- Provide positive guidance to students and parents.
- Develop lesson plans to promote spiritual academic physical social and emotional growth.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in education.
- Communicate effectively with students parents and colleagues.
