Position: PCBA Assembly Engineer
Job Summary:
The PCBA Assembly Engineer is responsible for overseeing and improving printed circuit board assembly processes within the EMS environment. The role involves supporting production lines optimizing assembly processes ensuring quality standards and collaborating with crossfunctional teams to ensure highperformance manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain PCBA assembly processes including SMT throughhole reflow soldering wave soldering AOI Xray and conformal coating.
- Create and update manufacturing process documentation such as work instructions assembly drawings and process flow charts.
- Provide technical support to production teams on PCBArelated issues.
- Define and optimize process parameters to improve yields reduce defects and increase throughput.
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to ensure manufacturability and smooth rampup.
- Collaborate with design quality and test engineering teams to address DFM (Design for Manufacturing) DFT (Design for Test) and DFA (Design for Assembly) concerns.
- Evaluate and implement new tools equipment and technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process deviations and quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with IPC standards (e.g. IPCA610 IPCJSTD001) and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to operators and technicians.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma and Kaizen.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Electronics Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing within an EMS environment.
- Handson experience with SMT assembly lines soldering processes and inspection systems (AOI Xray ICT FCT).
- Familiarity with IPC standards and ESD controls.
- Knowledge of process control tools such as SPC FMEA PFMEA and DOE.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM and manufacturing software tools (e.g. Valor Altium Mentor Graphics).
- Strong analytical problemsolving and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing systems.
- Certification in IPCA610 or IPC JSTD001.
- Experience with ERP and MES systems (e.g. SAP Oracle Siemens).
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
