Job Description
This is a remote position.
Contract Details:
Duration: 3 to 6 months
Engagement: Flexible open to parttime or fulltime based on consultant availability
Start Date: Immediate / As soon as possible
We are seeking a seasoned Warehouse Management System (WMS) Functional Consultant to support our shortterm digital transformation initiative focused on optimizing warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in warehouse processes and handson experience with leading WMS platforms such as SAP WM JD Edwards or RedPrairie.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and facilitate process design workshops with key stakeholders.
Document detailed warehouse workflows including:
Receiving
Putaway
Inventory Adjustments
Transfers
Reordering
Returns
Provide strategic guidance on warehouse structuring including:
Zone and bin setup
Crossdocking strategies
Cycle count planning
Assess and validate WMS implementation priorities contributing to a Tier 3 to Tier 1 system roadmap.
Support decisionmaking on shortterm vs longterm WMS functionalities.
Deliverables:
Comprehensive business process documentation.
Defined KPIs and reporting expectations aligned with warehouse performance goals.
Cutover and pilot run strategy to support phased implementation.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in warehouse operations and WMS implementation.
- Handson expertise in SAP WM JD Edwards or RedPrairie (or similar systems).
- Strong understanding of warehouse layout design inventory management principles and best practices.
- Proven track record of delivering process documentation and functional assessments.
- Excellent communication facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
