Overview
The CT Scan Technician plays a vital role in the healthcare system providing crucial imaging services that support diagnostic processes. Based in Ariyappampalayam Tamil Nadu this position involves working closely with physicians and healthcare professionals to carry out highquality computed tomography (CT) scans. The technician is responsible for preparing patients operating CT equipment and ensuring accurate imaging results while upholding safety standards and patient comfort. Equipped with specialized training and skills the CT Scan Technician also participates in the maintenance of imaging equipment and follows protocols to minimize risks associated with radiation exposure. This role not only contributes to effective patient diagnosis and treatment planning but also enhances the overall operational efficiency of the radiology department.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
- Operate CT scanning equipment to capture highquality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Position patients correctly to achieve optimal imaging results.
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation safety guidelines.
- Monitor patients during scanning to address any discomfort or concerns.
- Review and evaluate images for quality and completeness.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and imaging procedures.
- Assist radiologists in diagnostic assessments as needed.
- Calibrate and maintain CT equipment to ensure functionality and accuracy.
- Educate patients about prescan preparation including fasting or medication requirements.
- Implement infection control procedures to maintain a safe environment.
- Stay updated on advancements in CT technology and techniques.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training activities.
- Assist in managing inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for operations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Valid certification from a recognized radiologic technology program.
- State licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in computed tomography.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of radiation safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Proficiency in using CT imaging equipment and software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including late shifts and weekends.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
