Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing Fleet Engineering Programs in one of four code and licensing areas to provide timely and costeffective engineering services and technical support for the Vistra Nuclear Fleet. This role ensures that station design bases and associated licensing bases are maintained at each of our four Nuclear sites. The Mgr. Engineering Programs represents the company in correspondence with regulators contractors and industry groups to achieve nuclear production objectives.
This positions reporting location is at DavisBesse. There is one Mgr Engineering Programs at each site in the Vistra Nuclear Fleet with direct reports located across the Fleet.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintains design and licensing basis across the Vistra Nuclear Fleet for Engineering Programs in the area of responsibility
- Provides input to master contracts for Engineering Programs implementation
- Supports refuel outages through coordination of scoping of Engineering Program requirements
- Supports refuel outages through oversight of Engineering Programs activities
- Coordinates engineering programs input to design changes
- Leads engineering initiatives and efforts to establish common process
- Supports the Corrective Action Program
- Supports the Engineering Human Performance program
- Facilitates staffing activities
- Directs the activities of individual contributors within the group
- Coordinates and plans large workscope projects and task teams
- Prioritizes and approves group activities and work products
- Allocates personnel and budget to complete engineering activities and meet department/site goals
- Provides timely resolution to technical problems to ensure safe reliable and costeffective plant operation
- Provides engineering recommendations and priorities important to plant operations
- Controls costs within approved budget limits
- Ensures involvement in industry working groups
- Interfaces with State and Federal regulators to demonstrate continued safe operation
Education Experience & Skill Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering Engineering Tech or related Bachelors/Technical Degree
- Industry Programs SME experience or SRO Certification/License desired
- Technical understanding of nuclear plant processes programs and procedures
- Knowledge of nuclear codes standards and regulations; budgeting planning and scheduling
- Familiarity with Vistra policies and procedures
