BACKGROUND CHECK
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
PROBATION
All persons including current City employees selected for thisposition must complete a mandatory 6month probation.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Mayors Office of Homeless Services (MOHS) is the designated lead agency for the CoC and works to implement federal state and local policy and best practices in addition to administering and monitoring homeless services grants. MOHS administers approximately $75 million annually for programs that include street outreach emergency shelter transitional housing rapid rehousing permanent supportive housing Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) meal programs transportation and eviction prevention. Each year through a network of partner providers the homeless services program delivers housing and supportive services to over 25000 individuals and information can be found at: Baltimore City Mayors Office of Homeless Services (MOHS) is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Professional to support our organization. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating all administrative activities related to an organizations personnel. Their duties include developing recruitment strategies implementing systems for managing staff benefits payroll and behavior and onboarding new employees. This position will report directly to the Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Have a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
AND
EXPERIENCE: Have five (5) years of experience in progressive and strategic human resources management (human resources generalist specialist or business partner.)
OR
EQUIVALENCY NOTES: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of graduate course work in human resources management business administration or public policy from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each year of the experience requirement.
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATES:
Employees in this classification are encouraged to obtain and maintain professional human resources certification from a nationally recognized organization such as International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMAHR) Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) or Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI).
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or International Public Management Association for Human Resources Certified Professional (IPMACP) certification is highly desirable.
Have a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial drivers license or an equivalent drivers license and eligible to obtain a Baltimore City drivers permit. PROVISIONAL DRIVERS LICENSE ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.
