Job Summary:

Are you passionate about helping others achieve their career goals PPL is seeking aCareer Specialistto support participants and graduates of our Career Pathways programs. In this role youll provide personalized job placement career coaching and longterm support to help individuals secure employment and advance in their careers. Youll also collaborate with employer partners to connect graduates with real job opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These duties are not to be construed as exclusive or allinclusive.

  • Provide oneonone job placement support to a caseload of 5075 participants.
  • Coach participants on resume writing interviewing and job search strategies.
  • Facilitate inperson and virtual workshops to build job readiness skills.
  • Partner with financial coaches to support participants financial goals.
  • Connect graduates with employment and career advancement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and track outcomes in databases.
  • Deliver at least 12 months of retention support to program graduates.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employer partners to secure job placements and internships.
  • Support curriculum development and coordinate guest speakers and schedules.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

What we are looking for:

  • 12 years of experience in workforce development human services or a related field.
  • BA/BS in Human Services Sociology Social Work or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of local labor market trends and community resources.
  • Excellent communication time management and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Zoom Teams and online databases.
  • Reliable transportation valid drivers license and a good driving record.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit bend and communicate. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 1025 pounds. Salary:$20 to $25. Hr. DOQ

PPLs work structure has evolved into a Hybrid Modelwhere available striking a balance between onsite presence at the office or satellite locations and remote work from homebased on the programs needs. Working with your supervisor to find the right balance for your team will evolve over time.
