Job Description

Records Specialist


The Records Specialist will facilitate the admissions process and maintain student records. The Record Specialist reports to the Registrar/Dean of Enrollment Management.


JOB DUTIES:


  1. Knowing the Ranger College catalog.
  2. Being an information center for visitors and students.
  3. Processing admission applications.
  4. Communicating with admission applicants and students.
  5. Oversee a wide range of administrative functions within the Registrars Office to support routine operations.
  6. Scanning official transcripts received during the admissions process.
  7. Maintaining uptodate records on all current students.
  8. Becoming aware of and implementing changes in policies regulations and procedures as they relate to students and internal office functioning.
  9. Being as knowledgeable as possible concerning the total enterprise of Ranger College including available educational programs and teaching locations(s) of each as well as the names of instructors support staff and other resource persons available to assist the student and staff of Ranger College.
  10. Assisting faculty and staff in interpreting student record information.
  11. Assisting other office personnel in meeting deadlines for projects for which they have the prime responsibility.
  12. Assist with general office support: answer phones and perform reception duties.
  13. Requiring a strong knowledge of contentmanagement software J1.
  14. Assisting with Dual Credit registration communication and creating/maintaining student files.
  15. Participating in campus events such as but not limited to graduation preparation/ceremony and Ranger Roundup. These events may require travel to other campuses and/or time outside of normal office hours.
  16. Performing other duties as assigned.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Customer services skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment


RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate degree required preferably in an educational focus.

Experience: At least 2 years workrelated experience

Required Licensure Certification Registration or other Requirement: None


PAY RATE:Highly competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials. Group health and life insurance (60 day waiting period for health) and retirement benefits (TRS or ORP). Optional benefits include disability and dental insurance.
