Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Engineering Manager role in the Process Development team will provide process engineering and leadership on projects in the Intricon new product validation and process engineering spaces. This role will manage teams to execute on the full scope of process engineering tasks for new product development or process improvement efforts within new programs or existing production as needed. Typical tasks of this team include but are not limited to Process writing IQ/OQ/PQ capability analysis equipment and fixture design and testing and leading line balancing and lean topics for new programs. This role will require handson engineering and project management work in addition to management role will be customer facing at times and require occasional travel.

PRINCIPALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manages a midsize to large team of Engineers and Technician resources to manage all aspects of process engineering successfully through the product development lifecycle framework.*
  2. Leverages internal processes and best practices for functional purposes and deliverables making moderate improvements in support of team and functional deliverables.*
  3. Ensures new product programs meet economic and performance targets.*
  4. Ensures Quality Management System requirements are met.*
  5. Works closely and effectively with all other departments within the organization with customers and with suppliers.
  6. Ensures production processes and lab practices meet requirements of applicable safety rules and regulations.*
  7. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
  8. Manages moderately complex projects involving delegation and review of work acting as team leader.
  9. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  10. Interacts with others in their department and across departments and establishes extensive interdepartmental and interdivisional networks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical electrical biomedical engineering physics or similar field of study or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience; medical device experience preferred. Or advanced degree with 4 years of experience.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and technical writing skills.
  • Proven analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Strong personal interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Broad knowledge of Project Management.
  • Working with R&D from initial development through prototyping and into production
  • Has indepth understanding of the various organizational functional areas (i.e. manufacturing quality design planning sales and marketing)

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel. Employee is frequently required to see fine detail by unaided eye or by microscope. Employee is frequently required to talk or hear. Employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

SALARY RANGE:

The anticipated base pay for this position is: $125000 $150000

Intricon is committed to providing competitive total compensation and benefits packages. This listed range is based upon a fulltime schedule. This is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. Base salaries are determined by taking a variety of factors in account including but not limited to candidate qualifications education geographic locations market conditions and internal equity.
