Job Overview

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the companys digital communication and IT networks. This role involves the design implementation and maintenance of network systems including improvement to communication structure and security measures. The Senior Network Engineer will ensure the optimal performance of existing networks and contribute to the development of new systems.


Perform systems management and integration functions.

  • Establish and maintain IT and digital communication infrastructure encompassing wireless WAN and LAN networks.
  • Design develop and/or integrate proven solutions for vast portfolio of commercial and public customers.
  • Administer and manage digital communication software including email user credentials network access and troubleshooting for existing staff.
  • Train new employees to navigate company IT network systems and ensure their familiarity with communication protocols.
  • Plan projects defining scope documentation and time management to ensure timely project completion.
  • Safeguard networks against malware and viruses proactively identifying vulnerabilities and enhancing security measures in response to evolving cyber threats.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to staff members.
  • Conduct analysis and gather data to identify opportunities for communication network enhancements.
  • Collaborate with thirdparty providers to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Serve as an escalation point for Support Desk personnel.
  • Uphold and update certifications in Network and Security technologies.
  • Assume a leadership role within the Managed Service Provider (MSP) and aid in training Support Desk staff.
  • Design and architect networks within specified project timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) Information Technology (IT) a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 510 years of experience in IT network systems encompassing TCP/IP DNS DHCP ISP along with proficiency in VOIP phone support and physical/virtual server networking.
  • Current Cisco Meraki Fortinet and Palo Alto certifications highly preferred

Physical/Other Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for 48 hours during technology operations such as handling calls.
  • Constant use of fingers and hands for peripheral devices office equipment and electronic devices.
  • Average visual acuity for document preparation computer operation and machinery use.
  • Regular lifting transferring or moving objects up to 50 lbs. daily.
  • Occasional travel for RX Tech events or business development activities.
  • Maintenance of current certifications and participation in training courses and seminars.

Working Conditions:

  • Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm in a professional indoor office environment.
  • Flexibility for extended hours during critical periods or special projects.
  • Willingness to work weekends or afterhours support during special projects.
  • Collaboration in an open team environment.
