Reporting directly to the UK Service Leader as the Technical Application Engineer you will be a key member of the operations team. In this role you will provide engineering support conduct surveys at customer sites assist the commercial team and answer customer queries related to GEinstalled Protection and Control systems. You will also be responsible for providing training to both internal and external customers.

As the successful candidate you will work within defined parameters to make decisions apply technical concepts to issues of moderate to high complexity and resolve issues through immediate action or shortterm planning.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities

  • Review analyze and resolve assigned customer application inquiries using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards practices procedures and product/deadline requirements.
  • Collaborate with the commercial/sales team to ensure the best technical solution aligns with customer specifications.
  • Provide technical support to the Operations/Service teams to assist with project execution FATs SATs and site commissioning.
  • Support engineering tasks related to Protection and Control systems.
  • Manage fault reports and customer complaints in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist with both internal and external training activities including classroom and commissioningbased training.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of new products and systems.
  • Develop and enhance technical expertise in line with recognized industry standards for engineering proficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced experience in Electrical Engineering with knowledge equivalent to a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and demonstrated experience in project/service roles.
  • Experience in Substation Automation Systems including technical support testing maintenance and commissioning in transmission distribution industrial and power plant environments.
  • Ability to analyze specific applications and produce detailed technical reports.
  • Willingness to travel both within the UK and internationally.
  • A valid drivers license.

  • Familiarity with testing practices and equipment is desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet milestones and deliverables.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to remain levelheaded under pressure managing multiple inquiries simultaneously.
  • A highenergy positive attitude with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer focus and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • A dedicated team player with a selfmotivated flexible and selflearning attitude.
  • A motivator with a sense of urgency and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
