Job Description

About ACU

ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. All applicants must be professing Christians and willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of Abilene Christian University while employed by the university.

  1. Develop strategy for maximizing revenue generation for ACU Athletics.
  2. Take the lead role in all fundraising campaigns and opportunities for ACU Athletics.
  3. Oversee all aspects of Ticketing.
  4. Liaison with ACUs multimedia rights partner.
Essential Duties
  1. Develop strategy for maximizing revenue generation for ACU Athletics.
    1. Develop plans and strategies to identify new sources of revenue.
    2. Annually review and enhance revenue streams to maximize opportunities.
    3. Build relationships with members of ACU and the Abilene community.
  2. Take the lead role in development and fundraising for ACU Athletics.
    1. Work collaboratively with ACU Advancement office on all athletic centric fundraising activities
    2. Oversee and manage annual giving program that increases fundraising dollars and Wildcat Club membership for Athletics
    3. Create and maintain a priority seating program for football and basketball
    4. Assist coaches with their sport specific fundraising needs and annual ACU Gives campaign
    5. Solicit annual and major gifts for Athletics
    6. Sell all premium seating inventory for football and basketball
  3. Oversee all aspects of Ticketing.
    1. Increase season ticket single game and group ticket sales for ticketed sports
    2. Effectively manage and operate donor / ticketing system
    3. Oversee the operations of the Ticket Office
    4. Produce game audit reports after home athletic events
  4. Liaison with ACUs multimedia rights partner
    1. Enhance and promote the ACU brand both locally and nationally
    2. Work with LRG to increase revenue through royalties
    3. Work with the IMG to increase sponsorship revenue and fulfill sponsor obligations
    4. Collaborate with ACU Business Services to generate additional revenue through concessions merchandise sales special events etc.
Professional Development Requirements

  1. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  2. Project management and teamwork skills
  3. Supervisory skills (other university employees student employees volunteers event staff etc.)
  4. Knowledge of athletics
  5. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Photoshop
Qualifications
  1. Professional
  1. Minimum of Bachelors degree in marketing management or a similar field
  2. Masters degree preferred
  3. Experience in Division I college athletics preferred
  4. At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in external affairs with some supervisory or management experience preferred
  5. Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and quality of work
  6. Broad understanding of/and interest in numerous sports

  3. Ability to work and interact well with coaches staff studentathletes administration University constituents and other external audiences
  4. Strong work ethic and commitment to quality

Physical Demands
  1. Able to endure extended periods of sitting and typing at computer terminal
  2. Able to reach and climb to reach files
  3. Extended periods of walking and climbing stairs
  4. Able to communicate with various audiences on the phone in person and via computer
  5. Able to lift heavy boxes
  6. Able to lift chairs and tables and equipment necessary to arrange for press conferences and other events.
  7. Able to drive to athletic event locations
  8. Able to represent ACU at conferences
  9. Irregular work hours/long days weeknight hours and weekends.
  10. Extended travel i.e. sameday 12 day week long etc trips.
  11. Exposed to extreme weather conditions
