Job Title Plant Manager (2) Department Education and Workforce: AbilityOne: VA Job Purpose Per Job Description Oversee the Lead Worker and Machine Operator Facilitate the laundry and other contractual obligations of the VA Hospital. Job Duties & Responsibilities Per Job Description Oversee the daily operations at the program site. Maintain production and quality standards. Assign and direct the work of team members and staff. Set up and break down the work area each day. Communicate effectively with staff team members and customers. Attending all required meetings. Supervise staff as appropriate. Evaluate and provide feedback and provide corrective actions. Complete all Medicaidrequired documentation including daily notes and monthly summaries as required. Maintain all Zoom Group documentation and training requirements. Evaluate and provide feedback. Assist team members n performing their work independently. Encourage professional workplace conduct and dress. Aid team members as needed such as personal care and medications. Train in following directions attending to and following tasks and reaching goals and objectives while teaching selfadvocacy. Ensure laundry is processed following the guidance within the AbilityOne contract including but not limited to and detailed in separate documents: o Following the VA Robley Rex Policy and Procedures Manual o VA Laundry Procedures Soil Side o VA Laundry Procedures Clean Side o Assist the Director with updating policy and procedures. o Ensures That the Plant Meets All Safety Requirements E.g. OSHA o Supervises Machine Operator o Supervises Lead o Supervises Team Members o Oversees SoiledSide Operations o Operates SoiledSide Machinery as Needed o Oversees CleanSide Operations o Oversees Count of New Linen o Oversees Clinic Orders o Completes Billing
Takes Inventory o Completes Exceptions Report and Submits with Payroll o Works one (1) Saturday per month for equipment blowdown. o Ensure that responsibility is 75% team members and 25% staff while preparing all bulk and exchange carts. o Assist team members with bulking linen to be shipped to the Lexington location. o Ensure all linen is sent to the correct department on the correct date and provide clean manifest documentation. o Ensure the laundry is clean in all work areas covering the remaining linen and securing everything at the end of each workday. o Assist team members with processing sheets pillowcases and surgical items through the ironer while following sanitary and safety guidelines. o Assist team members with processing all linen correctly according to sanitary and safety guidelines. o Complete the test piece the week it arrives as assigned
Per Job Description Three years of laundry experience CLLM ALM Laundry Certification Working Conditions Per Job Description One Saturday a month for a blowdown The work environment includes a mix of office laundry clean and soil locations. Environments may be climate and nonclimate controlled. Laundry facilities may be loud dusty/lint with moving equipment such as overhead bags conveyors and roller lines
