As the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and apart of Research Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC) Office youll play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence across prestigious research units supporting the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. Youll have the opportunity to support groundbreaking public health initiatives collaborating with worldrenowned scientists and global health organisations. Your financial expertise will directly contribute to advancing microbiology research and improving public health outcomes. Additionally the role involves overseeing all financial aspects of the projects and collaborating with leadership to implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead Strategic Financial Planning: Manage annual budgeting processes develop financial models and create multiyear projections to support organisational goals.
  • Deliver Insightful Financial Analysis: Monitor project finances prepare regular reports and provide critical insights to support decisionmaking across multiple research units.
  • Drive Business Development: Contribute financial expertise to business cases and funding proposals identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with scientific and administrative teams to improve financial understanding and support effective resource planning.

You may be a great fit if:
You are a skilled finance professional with a strong analytical mindset excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial information for nonfinance stakeholders in a dynamic research environment.

You may also:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Finance Accounting or a related field.
  • Have demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis within complex organisations.
  • Possess advanced skills in financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Be familiar with grant funding or projectbased financial reporting.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage large complex budgets and work to tight deadlines.
  • Be knowledgeable about accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Have experience in stakeholder management and engagement.
