About the Department:
The Department of Statistics offers a PhD in Statistical Science two MS degrees (Biostatistics and Statistical Science with concentrations in Modern Statistics and Statistical Data Science) a BS in Statistics with four concentrations and dual MS and accelerated BS/MS options. Though a relatively young department founded in 1992 the Department has demonstrated rapid growth in research and scholarship. It is renowned for its leaders in statistics biostatistics data science and AI leaders with national/international credentials and prestigious honors.
Situated on the beautiful Fairfax VA campus in the hightech corridor of Northern Virginia the department is conveniently located 30 minutes from both downtown Washington D.C. and Dulles International Airport with topranked high schools in the country and easy access to engineering and computing departments within the College of Engineering and Computing as well as other colleges. Oncampus faculty rental housing is also available (see ). The department is also offering an increasing number of courses at GMUs Mason Square campus in downtown Arlington steps away from numerous restaurants and all the vibrancy of the city. Adjunct faculty are expected to teach one or two undergraduate or graduate courses in Statistics at our Fairfax or Arlington campus. Expertise in all areas of Statistics and Data Science is considered.

The College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) at George Mason University is a fastgrowing force for innovation in research and education. About the Future
