Job Duties
Reviews the assigned MSK Providers patient list and schedule triaging cases within the MSK service line. Elevates questionable cases to the Physician Advisor.
Reviews the referral and the patient charts few days prior to the appointment.
Takes patient history and records the information in the patients chart.
Obtains needed equipment for exam room procedures.
Prepares therapeutic injections and assists with minor procedures as needed.
Reviews preoperative instructions and explains the surgical process to patients who are about to have surgery.
Ensure that patients obtain the required preoperative clearance testing in a timely fashion prior to their scheduled surgical time by helping them navigate through the process.
Ensure that the ordered diagnostic lab/ imaging studies have been provided to the patient and assist with any inquires from the patient.
Performs patient education duties; shows surgical videos hands out brochures and directs patients to specific Internet sites for more information.
Provides oneonone clinic care as needed under the supervision of a physician and in accordance with the quality standards of the department including ( assisting with outpatient procedures such as injections). Individuals must have the knowledge base to be able to evaluate and report findings to the physician.
Assists in the orientation and training of new team members.
Works collaboratively with the Ambulatory Service team to ensure the Medical Centers Mission Values Statements are exemplified each day in the outpatient care area.
Acts as a patient navigator for that patient population ensuring that proper followup is maintained.
Customer Service: respect flexibility knowledge confidence professionalism pleasant attitude patience and helpfulness. All responses should be timely professional caring and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectations
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures objectives quality assurance program safety environmental and infection control standards. Assesses gaps in policies and procedures and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps.
Understands and adheres to the Medical Centers Code of Conduct

Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization
Position Qualifications
Current New Jersey Registered Nurse license required.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
IV Certification required.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Speaks reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
Education
Associates degree from an accredited school of nursing required. BSN from accredited school of nursing preferred.
