Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

ENVIRONMENT:

A leading global fullservice commercial bank offering corporate personal and investment banking wealth management and treasury services is looking to appoint an Assistant Manager to review and analyse credit applications submitted by the Corporate Banking and Treasury divisions. The role includes assessing risk through the evaluation of internal credit ratings and monitoring postloan management reports.

DUTIES:

Credit Analysis & Risk Review

  • Review credit limit and transaction applications providing riskbased opinions.
  • Validate internal credit rating applications and ensure accuracy.
  • Administer the Drawdown Centre process and procedures.
  • Ensure all processes comply with internal policies and manuals.

Policy Compliance & PostLending Monitoring

  • Ensure compliance with credit policies; monitor risks such as counterparty concentration credit limit expiries and covenant adherence.
  • Conduct ongoing postlending monitoring identifying risk changes and triggers and offering recommendations based on findings.
  • Monitor past dues nonperforming assets and manage loan writeoffs.

Credit Administration & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Front Office to resolve policy breaches.
  • Maintain monitoring tools for credit limits and ratings ensuring timely renewals.
  • Ensure annual postlending reports are completed and track excess exposures.
  • Facilitate rollovers and ensure Front Office Departments adhere to interest period requirements.

Committee Support & Secretarial Duties

  • Manage meeting scheduling and documentation for Credit Committees and Deal Forums.
  • Draft meeting minutes and maintain records.

REQUIREMENTS

Formal Qualifications

  • BCom in Finance Economics or related field (Essential)
  • Postgraduate qualification in Finance (Desirable)

Experience

  • 25 years in Banking/Financial Services (Essential)
  • 25 years in Credit/Business Analysis (Essential)
  • 25 years in Risk Management (Desirable)

Knowledge

  • Essential: Experience in analysing financial statements credit applications and compiling credit assessment reports.
  • Essential: Broad understanding of banking functions and operations.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of banking regulations.

Skills

  • Essential: Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
  • Essential: Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Essential: Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Essential: Strong time management and organizational skills.
