District Attendance ManagerWest Springfield Public SchoolsThe essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar related or a logical assignment to the position: Collaborate with Parents Teachers Counselors Family Liaisons Adjustment Counselors Building Principals and the Executive Director of Community Relations and Educational Services to enhance communication and implement tiered attendance interventions. Monitor and track attendance data regularly in collaboration with building designees; support data entry and monitoring for state reporting. Develop implement and monitor attendance action plans with students and families. Conduct home visits related to residency and truancy concerns; verify student residency as needed. Investigate cases of truancy and nonattendance including the legality of absence and represent chronic attendance cases in court; act as a liaison to law enforcement agencies and courts regarding student truancy. Refer and follow up on Child Requiring Assistance (CRA) cases and 51A reports. Collaborate with outside agencies and organizations including DCF to address attendance barriers. Support students and families by identifying and addressing obstacles to regular school attendance. Facilitate a districtwide attendance team that meets regularly to examine attendance data and trends; attend schoolbased attendance team : No person shall be eligible for employment by a school committee as a supervisor of attendance unless such person either holds a Supervisor of Attendance certificate that was issued under 603 CMR 13.00 prior to June 30 2017 or meets the following requirements:Demonstration of knowledge of the laws concerning school attendance and of services available to children with attendance problems. Possession of one of the following:i. Two years of experience working as a parole probation or law enforcement official whose major responsibilities have been working with juveniles and/or in home . A minimum of eighteen graduate credits in psychology school counseling and/or social work at an accredited . An Initial or Professional Massachusetts license as a School Counselor School Psychologist School Social Worker/School Adjustment . An Initial or Professional Massachusetts administrator license with at least one course in psychology school counseling and/or social work at an accredited college.v. A combination of experience working with schoolage children in a school setting or a nonschool setting deemed acceptable by the Department and education in psychology guidance and/or social work at an accredited : Individual Contract 12 month employee 37.5 hours/week
