NATURE OF POSITION: Full Time Faculty (167days) Appointment. 1.0 FTE

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: The position of Nursing Faculty program reports to the Director of Nursing Education and ultimately the Dean of Health Sciences.

PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB:

The faculty member is responsible for delivery of instruction to students in the RN to BSN completion program. The position includes delivery of nursing curriculum via both distance and traditional methods. Other responsibilities include student recruitment student advisement curriculum development participation in department and collegewide activities program accreditation work and professional development. The faculty member is responsible for using teaching methods and media designed to reach students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity to master the course outcomes. The faculty member will be dynamic creative and committed to teaching excellence and have a passion for continuous improvement and assessment of student learning. The use of various instructional delivery methods (i.e. LMS Webex Zoom etc.) may be required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Provide instruction to students in assigned classes in accordance with schedule catalog description and official syllabi. (55%)
2. Collaborate with nursing faculty team and the Director of Nursing Education to develop implement and assess a systematic evaluation process that uses relevant data to determine program effectiveness. (15%)
3. Actively contribute to curriculum evaluation/revision based on available data. Provide input into the department work plan and budget development. (9%)
4. Actively participate in the development and evaluation of academic policies related to student recruitment advising retention and progression. (4%)
5. Engage in professional development activities to keep informed of new approaches to teaching and stay current in area of clinical focus. Maintain Colorado Career and Technical Credential in accordance with regulations. (4%)
6. Attend and actively participate in departmental and program advisory committee meetings. Serve on college committees and teams. Participate in the Strategic Planning Process at both the college and program level (4%)
7. Actively collaborate with the Director of Nursing Education in the preparation and ongoing revision of class schedules and course syllabi. (2%)
8. Assume an active role in the recruitment advising and enrollment processes of the College. Participate in the Pinning Ceremony and Commencement Exercises of the College. (2%)
9. Identify supplies equipment and other learning resources needed to support instruction and make recommendations to the Director of Nursing Education. (1%)
10. Maintain accurate class records of students attendance and grades providing copies or other permanent records for the College. (1%)
11. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing Education and Dean of General Education and Health Sciences. (1%)
12. Based on the functions this position is identified as a Campus Security Authority. As a Campus Security Authority the incumbent in this position is required to report allegations of Clery Act crimes that they become aware of to the Vice President of Student Services at Morgan Community College. Attends training pertaining to these responsibilities as required. (1%)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of experience in professional clinical nursing practice.
• Current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Colorado or compact state.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Colorado Career and Technical Education Credential.
• Strong technological skills and experience in using MS Office suite.
• Teaching experience in a professional nursing program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Doctorate Degree in Nursing Education Ed.D or Ph.D from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of recent experience in professional clinical nursing.
• Demonstrated success in working with diverse student populations.
• Experience in teaching via distance.

Anticipated Start Date: July 2025

Salary and Benefits:

$74400$89500 (includes premium pay for highdemand health positions) based on education skills and experience. Benefits include health life dental insurance vision LTD & benefit package along with tuition assistance and retirement match in accordance with Colorado Community College and Occupational Education System policies. No relocation assistance is provided.
