Job Description
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments.
- Perform complex cardiac thoracic and vascular surgical procedures.
- Develop and implement individualized surgical care plans.
- Manage preoperative and postoperative care for patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to surgical staff and fellows.
- Participate in clinical research and surgical innovation initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes to enhance surgical techniques.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices.
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and recovery.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to case discussions.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in cardiac surgery.
- Review and publish research findings in relevant medical journals.
- Contribute to quality improvement projects within the surgical department.
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a residency in General Surgery.
- Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery or equivalent training.
- Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant state/region.
- Minimum of 5 years of surgical experience in a clinical setting.
- Proven experience in complex surgical procedures.
- Strong understanding of surgical techniques and technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to continuing medical education and professional development.
- Experience in clinical research and publication.
- Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to handle crises and make timely decisions under pressure.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a healthcare setting.
