Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Millwright (NQF 6 responsible for the installation maintenance and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical systems. The role ensures optimal performance of all equipment through effective preventive maintenance and timely fault resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

  • Install new machinery and equipment according to engineering specifications.
  • Ensure all installations comply with safety and quality standards.

Maintenance Operations

  • Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and update service logs.

Repairs & Technical Support

  • Repair defective equipment promptly to minimize production downtime.
  • Provide technical assistance during breakdowns and collaborate with production teams to restore functionality.
  • Identify root causes of repeated failures and implement corrective actions.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all machinery and installations meet legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement of workplace safety practices.


Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Millwright Trade Certificate (Red Seal)
  • NQF Level 6 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 35 years experience in a similar industrial maintenance environment
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and using diagnostic tools
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical systems hydraulics pneumatics and electrical systems
