Direct Hire

Axiom Staffing is seeking a Kiln Technician at a local refractory in York PA. This is a 3rd Shift position working MondayFriday 10:00pm6:00am.


Responsibilities:

  • Print production schedules prioritize and prepare daily kiln push information sheets
  • Maintain stacking patterns
  • Operate all kilns and equipment tractors and transfer cars
  • Make changes to kilns to accommodate product changes and push rate changes
  • Observe record and accurately report kiln temperatures and conditions perform general kiln inspections and maintenance record gas and electrical readings
  • Schedule Bickley setups firing dates and communicate schedule to planning
  • Ensure proper number of bricks are placed on cars and proper tieins are used according to setting pattern. Check height of all columns to ensure the maximum height is not exceeded
  • Visually inspect all brick to insure they meet the s guideline. Report any defects to a quality control technician and/or supervisor
  • Collaborate with s team to on any ideas to reduce s and become more efficient
  • Accurate completion of the kiln production reports
  • Operation the backup propane system
  • Rebuild kiln cars in mason area as required
  • Operation of Savage and Clipper saws
  • Palletizing and boxing of cut products
  • Report equipment problems to maintenance and/or supervisor. Complete maintenance service orders
  • Will be required to efficiently and safely operate the Counterbalance sitdown forklift as well as tractors and rail/transfer system equipment
