Job Coach Special Needs - Brooklyn Manhattan

AHRC New York City is seeking Job Coachs for their Employment Business Services (EBS) programs in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Pay Rate: $17$18 per hour. Pay rate maybe increased to $18$19 after 6 months pending review process. In addition this position comes with a very generous and comprehensive benefit package which includes FULL MEDICAL INS. PAID BY AHRC COST TO YOU! See additional Benefit information below.

Scope of Position:

The Job Coach is the central figure in the success of our workers with disabilities in their jobs. Job Coaches provide training evaluation and counseling to workers with disabilities in a wide variety of jobs at independent businesses or through contracts AHRC holds with various entities. The job requires a high degree of scheduling flexibility. It is at times necessary to modify a staff schedule during the week with only minimal notification.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assess workers skills abilities needs for support and learning styles and design and implement training plans that will meet their needs.
• Teach assist and support new workers in their jobs through a variety of techniques including demonstration of work/tasks modeling counseling observation and discussion.
• Travel routing new workers from home to job site.
• Development of excellent relationships with workers and their families and significant others and employers coworkers referral and funding sources and to provide excellent service to all these customers.
• Documentation of all services rendered in accordance with all AHRC City/State/Federal guidelines and policies and maintenance of person specific program files in compliance with same.
• On Hudson River Services sites (AHRCs affirmative business) Job Coaches duties are expanded to include coordination of time cards supplies and other site management responsibilities (see HRS training manual).

Qualifications :

• One year experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual. May include early morning evening and/or weekend hours.
• Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge and interpret same.
• Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
• Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants families staff and community agencies.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
• Ability to organize work with self and others.
• High School diploma or GED
