Job Description

Who We Are Looking For:

Are you the Bi/Multilingual Infectious Disease Nurse (LPN or RN) we have been looking for In this position you will be able to convey your passion for helping others by working with people in the community!
JRIs Program RISE is a multiservice program serving the Metrowest area. RISE offers free confidential HIV counseling testing and referrals STI and Hepatitis testing HIV Case Management Housing Search & Advocacy Peer Support Services LGBT services Prevention and Education Needle Exchange community education programs on HIV STIs viral Hepatitis harm reduction and LGBTQ cultural competency.
Salary: $(based on qualifications and experience)
What Youll Do:
  • Provide clients with culturallyresponsive nursing care that operates within the harm reduction framework.
  • Identify and link highrisk individuals to program services. Priority populations include people who use sex workers people who live with HIV/AIDS and /or Hepatitis C and young adults.
  • Provide wound care and communicating client needs to medical provider.
  • Offering referrals to medical care drug treatment and social services.
  • Conduct HIV/HCV/STI counseling and testing including phlebotomy and specimen collection.
  • Provide treatment for STIs and enroll participants in insurance programs as appropriate.
  • Provide vaccines for Hepatitis A B influenza SARSCoV2 and screening for TB.
  • Provide naloxone and harm reduction education as needed to people who use .
  • Promote accessibility and availability of buprenorphine/naloxone.
  • Conduct aftercare and prevention safer injection counseling crisis intervention and relapse prevention.
  • Remain committed to social justice mission and principles of cultural responsiveness harm reduction and traumainformed care.
  • Demonstrate cultural responsiveness and ability to work with diverse populations within Black Latinx LGBTQ cultures and of people who use (PWUD).
  • Complete comprehensive needs assessments and action plans to provide interventions required to promote progress towards health.
  • Collect and enter data into Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Participate in training treatment updates and program development activities.
  • Adhere to all JRI and JRI Health policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Nurse Practitioner Program Manager and/or Program Director.

Requirements:
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Knowledge of HIV/STDs and HCV harm reduction mental health and/or community resources.
  • Bilingual or trilingual preferred (English/Portuguese/Spanish).
  • Must have a valid unrestricted nurse license.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction syringe services naloxone and opioid prevention strategies or willingness to learn.
  • Two years of experience counseling or health education.
  • Cultural sensitivity to diverse active user population and Black Hispanic LGBTQ and varied cultures.
  • Experience with or willing to learn phlebotomy.
  • Valid drivers license and personal transportation required.
  • Selfdirected motivated and flexible with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
