The University Student Union as the heart of campus uplifts and empowers students to achieve educational personal and professional goals by providing leadership development meaningful employment and innovative programs services and facilities. We promote equity inclusion and wellbeing while encouraging social justice advocacy to help Matadors feel heard respected and connected to CSUN. Our facilities include a University Student Union and a 138000 square foot Student Recreation Center (SRC).The SRC is a facility for exercise and leisure activity that promotes lifelong health and wellness.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Assistant Director Programs & Leadership the University Student Union (USU) Collaborations & Special Projects Supervisor is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties associated with ensuring the operation of the USUs Collaborations CoSponsorship programs and providing support for USU Leadership programs and initiatives.

Position encompasses a trainee level (Range A) and a fully developed working level (Range B). While the duties performed at both levels will be similar employees possessing little or no experience will be placed in Range A and will function with closer supervision in a trainee capacity for six to twelve months (depending on job performance). Employees in Range B will be expected to perform with greater independence and under general supervision the full scope of duties encompassed in this job description.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Serve as a resource regarding the University Student Unions policies and procedures related to collaborations and cosponsorships;
  • Monitor and is responsible for adherence to collaborations and cosponsorship budget;
  • Assist with facilitating informational presentations regarding the cosponsorship process;
  • Serve as a liaison and resource to student clubs and organizations academic departments and external stakeholders including campus departments campus community partners and other institutions regarding collaborative programs and cosponsorship opportunities;
  • Assist with cosponsorship & leadership assessments evaluations and other reports;
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department for communications promotions and social media content;
  • Prepare memos and facilitate communication with student clubs and organizations faculty staff and other campus partners;
  • Assist with training and supervising the work of parttime student assistant employees including monitoring performance; generating performance evaluations; and administering disciplinary actions as needed;
  • Plan implement coordinate supervise and evaluate the Bring the USU to U project in support of the USUs Heat Map project to foster engagement with students and provide awareness of the programs and services provided by the USU;
  • Assist in facilitating USU Collaborations and partnerships including but not limited to tabling and resource fair requests USU tours etc.;
  • Monitor and track collaboration requests;
  • Facilitate communication and relay information between campus partners and internal USU departments;
  • Oversee the USU interpreter request process communications and invoicing;
  • Provide administrative and/or operational support to the Equity Programs & Leadership (EPL) area by coordinating special initiatives and managing logistics that align with the mission values and goals of the departments and the broader organization;
  • Participate in University Student Union staff meetings activities training and development programs and professional development activities;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Equivalent to graduation from a fouryear college or university with a bachelors degree in an applicable field. Specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a yearforyear basis.

Experience
Professional fulltime experience is not required for consideration.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in budget development monitoring and analysis.

Assessment experience (ability to formulate assessment instruments that garner usable data interpret data draw conclusions and report findings).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is generally performed in a temperaturecontrolled onsite office environment or at an approved and appropriate workspace in the incumbents home. Work is occasionally performed in outdoor spaces or outdoor performance venues. Some evening and weekend work required (most often with advance notice). Must be able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Contact with students faculty staff administrators agents artists and the general public required.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

This position supervises parttime student assistant employees and volunteers.

PAY BENEFITS AND WORK SCHEDULE:

The anticipated hiring range will be as follows and is dependent on experience and qualifications:

Hourly: $22.80 $25.00

BiWeekly: $1824.00 $2000.00

Annually: $47424.00 $52000.00

The salary range of the position is as follows:
SALARY (TRAINEE RANGE A):

Hourly: Minimum: $22.80 Maximum: $27.88

BiWeekly: Minimum: $1824 Maximum: $2231.07

Annually: Minimum: $47424 Maximum: $58008

SALARY (NONTRAINEE RANGE B):

Hourly: Minimum: $24.62 Maximum: $34.84

BiWeekly: Minimum: $1970.30 Maximum: $2787.69

Annually: Minimum: $51228 Maximum: $72480
