Job Description
The Company is one of the leading hook and loop manufacturer and exporter in India. The product range includes various types of hook and loop fasteners value added products from hook & loop like selfadhesive hook & loop tapes webbings neoprene velvet functional elastics etc across different industries viz. Footwear Orthopaedic PPE Automobile Garment Sportswear Packaging Defence and many more.
Requirement for analytical and strategic Purchase Manager to oversee procurement operations and ensure costeffective acquisition of goods and services. The ideal candidate will excel in cost optimization possess expertise in ABC analysis for consumption management and demonstrate strong planning and analytical abilities to enhance operational efficiency and reduce overall procurement costs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement and Cost Optimization:
o Develop and implement procurement strategies that focus on cost optimization without compromising quality.
o Identify opportunities to reduce costs through supplier negotiations bulk purchasing alternative sourcing and improved procurement practices.
o Benchmark costs across vendors to achieve competitive pricing and maximize value.
2. Consumption Analysis and Inventory Management:
o Perform ABC analysis to prioritize inventory management based on consumption value and criticality.
o Monitor and analyse inventory usage to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and obsolescence.
o Develop demand forecasts to prevent overstocking and reduce waste.
3. Strategic Planning:
o Design and execute shortterm and longterm procurement plans aligned with business goals.
o Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (operations production and finance) to align procurement activities with organizational objectives.
o Continuously evaluate market conditions price trends and supplier performance for strategic decisionmaking.
4. DataDriven DecisionMaking:
o Use data analytics to identify costsaving opportunities inefficiencies and trends in purchasing activities.
o Prepare and present detailed cost analysis reports supplier performance metrics and purchasing trends to management.
o Leverage procurement software and tools to track and analyze data for better decisionmaking.
5. Vendor Management and Negotiation:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and consistency in delivery.
o Conduct competitive bidding negotiate contracts and secure favorable terms for the organization.
o Evaluate new and existing suppliers to ensure they meet quality cost and delivery requirements.
6. Compliance and Risk Management:
o Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and company policies.
o Identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and cost optimization abilities.
- Proficiency in ABC analysis demand planning and inventory management.
- Expertise in using procurement and inventory management tools (e.g. SAP Oracle or similar).
- Excellent negotiation communication and relationship management skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute costefficient procurement plans.
- Sound knowledge of procurement laws regulations and best practices.
- Detailoriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- 8 years of experience as a Purchase Manager or in a similar role focused on cost optimization and procurement.
- Preferred Industry background : Textile or Chemicals
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g. CPSM CSCP) is a plus.
Work Timing : 6 days a week 9.30 AM to 6.00 PM
