SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises and mentors any interns or student workers that may be appropriate to the office. Oversees freelance writers contributing to editorial content.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Editorial Content is responsible for the design and production of the Moravian University Magazine that will represent the institution to its various audiences through effective storytelling that highlights students alumni and faculty achievements. In addition the Director of Editorial Content will oversee design and production of digital editorial content e.g. the Inside Moravian newsletter and Our Community newsletter. This position will also contribute to the editorial content for marketing collateral that supports University initiatives.
The Director of Editorial Content will act as a liaison between Marketing and Alumni Engagement to manage content on campus to support alumni engagement efforts. This position will also assist in managing editorial content for the Moravian Theological and Lancaster Theological Seminaries including newsletters for faculty and alumni. This role will also contribute to internal communications efforts to effectively share content relevant to campus communities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS: A baccalaureate degree in an appropriate field (e.g. publishing); proficient in the use of the Adobe Creative Suite five or more years of experience in publications work preferred; proven writing graphic design and publication layout experience including appropriate computer skills; the capacity to judge and work productively with vendors and prepare files for print; the capacity to work with colleagues as a member of a team; willingness to give time over and above a normal work week; and belief in the mission and objectives of private higher education.
