IACT & Greek Life Experience Specialist

Hillel at Arizona State University

Role Overview

Make your mark on Jewish student life by joining Hillel at Arizona State University as the IACT (Inspired Active Committed Transformed) & Greek Life Experience Specialist. At Arizona State Universityhome to 3500 Jewish students and recognized as the nations most innovative university for nine yearsyour work will meet students where they are sparking curiosity and building accessible pathways to Jewish engagement through Birthright Israel and Greek Life engagement.

With 85 of ASUs Jewish students reporting little prior connection to Jewish life the opportunities for impact are immense. You will be integral to Hillels success as you champion our Birthright Israel immersive program and Greek life initiatives that inspire and engage hundreds of students each year.

This is primarily a studentfacing role with moderate other responsibilities designed so that you can drive our Greek Life and Birthright Israel strategy forward while sitting on campus 80 of the time. At ASU Hillel every students journey is sacred and every interaction is an opportunity to inspire vibrant Jewish lives. This is more than a jobits a mission to shape the next generation of leaders and changemakers.

What Youll Do

Birthright Israel Management

  • Staff and oversee the recruitment and marketing for two trips annually summer and winter.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for our trip organizer.
  • Organize and coordinate participant interviews and manage the Birthright Israel pipeline participant list.
  • Mentor and supervise Birthright Israel recruitment interns and trip followup interns.
  • Curate pretrip orientations and posttrip reunions to build a cohesive and tightknit cohort experience.
  • Provide personalized followup and educational opportunities to help Birthright Israel alumni stay engaged in Jewish life and strengthen their connection to Judaism Israel and Hillel

Greek Life Engagement

  • Execute a detailed strategy that engages 200 Greek life students on campus annually.
  • Launch two Greekspecific cohort experiences per year that overlap with your interests and the students you meet (this may look like teaching a Jewish learning and/or Israel course).
  • Host weekly programming in the Greek Leadership Village to foster community and connection where Greek students live.
  • Produce Greekspecific programming for holidays and Shabbat to bridge the gap between Greek and Jewish life.
  • Mentor and supervise the Greek life student cochairs and committee members.
  • Build relationships with key partners including Greek life faculty and advisors to expand Hillels presence in the overall Greek life community.

Team & Overall Engagement Responsibilities

  • Hold at least 5 student conversations/week to develop 1/1 relationships.
  • Achieve student engagement goals as set by the Associate Director.
  • Staff communitywide socials Shabbat and holiday programming ensuring each and every student feels warmly welcomed into Hillels doors.
  • Support immersive experiences by recruiting for Birthright Israel Jewish Learning Fellowships and social cohort experiences.

  • Fluency with social media and design tools (Canva LinkTree Instagram Facebook etc).
  • Working a flexible schedule that may vary day to day based on students needs and Hillel programs.

What Youll Bring to the Job

  • A Bachelors degree and 02 years of professional work experience. Prior Hillel experience is a plus but not required.
  • Prior participation in Birthright Israel/Israel immersive experience is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in Greek life is highly encouraged.
  • A positive attitude and approach your work with curiosity humor and a growth mindset.
  • You are flexible understanding that things may not always go according to plan and you are willing to problemsolve and adapt.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and excitement about the limitless possibilities of engaging every Jewish student.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams both inside and outside of Hillel.
