As a newly established business division of AXA XL Americas our Middle Market segment serves the needs of midsized clients in the Commercial Lines P&C market. Over the next few years the unit is looking to start with the client and strategically expand its product suite to drive profitable growth in its target segments. The Senior Product Manager is a newly created position which will sit within the business and work closely across Underwriting Product Management Legal and Regulatory Compliance amongst other groups to help deliver on that growth. This leader will play a key role as an integral member of a dynamic Product Development growth team by creating advising on and managing P&C coverage development for this rapidly evolving product suite.

What will your essential responsibilities include

  • Lead and own the product development and implementation of coverage solutions to establish AXA XLs competitiveness and differentiated offerings in the Middle Market space; provide input into appetite and optimal portfolio
  • Manage multiple related projects in a coordinated manner to achieve strategic objectives and ensure alignment with unit strategy.
  • Ensure efficient and effective resource management while balancing stakeholder engagement and risk management for US Middle Market initiatives.
  • Focus on delivering value and benefits from the program outcomes while aiming to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide thought leadership and expertise on policy construction coverage wordings market standard offerings and manuscript endorsements for the Casualty Lines with a primary focus on Commercial Auto
  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding product details such as rates rules forms & compliance
  • Collaborate effectively with aligned Actuarial support and help drive key strategies around rate filings pricing strategies desired portfolio mix and line of business profit improvement strategies
  • Establish Robust working relationships with crossfunctional groups including Claims Compliance Regulatory Legal and other functions to engage and collaborate on issues related to the Casualty Lines of business
  • Work on behalf of Middle Market team and underwriters as liaison on compliance topics review all regulatory and compliance components of products the business intends to write and advise on any business strategies that require input from regulatory or compliance
  • Drive underwriting strategy and risk selection through understanding of the competitive marketplace preferred risk characteristics lessons from loss trends and competitor offerings
  • Represent AXA XL as a subject matter expert and thought leader at industry conferences enabling the organization to see around corners and stay ahead of industry trends and emerging risks

You will report to the Head of Middle Market Data Analytics & Product.

Were looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Extensive Commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience in the field of legal compliance regulatory relations product development underwriting or underwriting support with a focus on the Casualty Lines of business and the Middle Market segment
  • Minimum education requires a college Degree with relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing
  • Team player who takes initiative and is able to work selfdirected
  • Outstanding analytical skills
  • Able to manage time meet deadlines and adjust to competing priorities
  • Understanding of the need for accurate and timely management information; effectively manages up and escalates issues that may impact business strategies or operational goals

The U.S. pay range for this position is USD. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individuals skills experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues pay.
