Airbnb is seeking a seasonedSenior Engineering Managerto lead a highimpact engineering team focused onTrust & Safety. In this role you will drive the technical vision and for critical systems that safeguard the integrity of our platform enhance user trust and ensure the security of Airbnbs global community.
The Difference You Will Make:
This is apivotal leadership opportunitytobuild and scale the Trust & Safety engineering team in Indiafrom the ground up. Youll serve as afounding memberof the India Trust organization colead thedefinition of the teams charter and play a central role in shaping its longterm strategy culture and technical direction. As the team grows you will help establish it as acenter of excellence for Trust & Safety within Airbnb partner closely with product data science security and other crossfunctional teams to deliver innovative solutions that proactively protect our users and uphold the integrity of Airbnbs platform. This is a highly visible role ideal for a strategic technical leader with a passion for operational excellence and people leadership.
A Typical Day:
- Technical Leadership: Define and execute the technical strategy for trust and safety initiatives ensuring alignment with Airbnbs longterm goals.
- Team Management: Hire mentor and lead a highperforming engineering team. Foster a culture of innovation ownership and continuous improvement.
- CrossFunctional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers data scientists and partner engineering teams to develop effective scalable solutions.
- Project Oversight: Lead endtoend project ensuring highquality delivery across the software development lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Provide clear communication of project status risks and opportunities to senior leadership and partners.
- Operational Excellence: Champion best practices for reliability scalability and incident response. Maintain operational readiness for critical systems.
- Industry Awareness: Stay current on trends in Trust & Safety and drive adoption of best practices and innovations within the team.
- Global Alignment: Work with global counterparts to ensure the India teams initiatives are aligned with broader Trust & Safety goals.
Your Expertise:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 12 years of industry experience including 57 years in engineering management.
- Proven track record of delivering largescale secure and reliable systems.
- Strong experience in leading technical strategy and building scalable engineering data or machine learning systems.
- Expertise in leading AI/ML teams and delivering AIpowered solutions is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in at least one major language (e.g. Java Python Go Ruby).
- Demonstrated ability to hire and retain toptier engineering talent.
- Excellent communicatorcapable of bridging technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Experience setting multiyear strategies and aligning diverse stakeholders.
- Background working in fastpaced agile environments with crossfunctional teams.
- Passion for trust safety and driving positive social impact.
- Strong commitment to fostering diversity equity and inclusion within teams.

The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus equity benefits and Employee Travel Credits.
