Summary of Job Duties:
The successful candidate will assist in leading agricultural soil health and soiltesting programs that support soil conservation and applied nutrient management research and extension programs. Specific responsibilities will include research data organization and statistical analysis archiving soil samples preparing and submitting research reports publishing research papers and assisting in planning and maintaining longterm field research trials. Additional duties may include laboratory analysis of fertilizer manure plant and soil samples in support of field research and assisting in updating soil health and fertilizer recommendations. This position requires frequent driving to research and onfarm locations. The candidate will work with graduate students program associates lab technicians faculty stakeholders and various agencies that fund or collaborate on research. The PostDoctoral Associate position will be located in Fayetteville AR.
Qualifications:
Required Qualification:
PhD in soil science agronomy plant science or a related discipline with experience in soil health or nutrient management in agricultural productions systems such as corn cotton rice soybean and cover crops.
Preferred Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be selfmotivated possess leadership skills exhibit the ability to work independently and as a team member and be highly organized. Developing publications will be a primary job emphasis and requires the candidate to have excellent written and oral communication skills and have a strong publication record with a working knowledge of statistical analysis in SAS R studio or another equivalent program. Candidates with experience in soil health and nutrient management research and knowledge of soil test correlation and calibration procedures and the associated statistical methods will be given preference.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1 Selfmotivated possess leadership skills exhibit the ability to work independently and be
highly organized.
2 Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong publication record.
3 Working knowledge in statistical analysis in SAS R studio or another equivalent program.
4 Experience in soil and plant laboratory analysis methods and instrumentation.
5 Knowledge of soil conservation management practices nutrient management and soil health analysis.
